passed away last week at the age of 53.
As stated in his obituary, Pelletier "died suddenly on April 11" at his home alone in Langley, British Columbia.

A generous father, friend, and co-worker, he is remembered as such and his death has left a profound loss among those that knew and loved him.
"He touched many lives with his generosity and remarkable work ethic," his obituary states. "He was always there to lend a helping hand when the time came — and most times, before someone even had to ask. He was charismatic and loved meeting new people, greeting them with his broad smile and a hearty, warm handshake."
Pelletier's most treasured role, though, was that of a father. His daughter, Myhrsades (Murray) Jones, was the pride of his life. "He loved to gift her with concert tickets to experience her favorite band or book travel tickets somewhere special," the tribute goes on. "He was incredibly proud of his world traveller. He also enjoyed music, and because of this, she and many others now appreciate a greater diversity of music.

Professionally, Pelletier was also recognized for his steady appearance as a taxi driver on When Calls the Heart and for his behind-the-scenes contributions as a key member of the show's transport department. His work in transportation and his co-workers, whom he referred to as his "work-family," were characterized as his "second greatest love" with specific reference to his transportation captain and dear friend, Gordon "Gord" Alyward.

Beyond work, Pelletier was an ardent home chef, celebrated for his cookies and bars, but most of all for the enthusiasm he took in hosting friends and family. He was a talented poet and filled many lines of tender poetry with his "ever so recognizable handwriting." His friendliness knew no bounds — his door was "always open to all, young and old," and neighbors often witnessed him reaching out for a hug over the balcony rail.
Nathaniel "Nate" Pelletier has left behind a legacy of love, hard work, and kindness — particularly for his daughter, friends, and extended TV family.
